Tuca i a mi amb Blablacar des de València cap a Donosti.
no saber on dormirem hui.
senda està totalment envoltada de vegetació i és complicat trobar uns metres
plans.

We have been lucky in finding a vet that agreed to drive Tuca and I by Blablacar from Valencia to Donosti. Ana has been really kind and she has saved us from crossing Pasaia's Bay by motorboat or walking an unnecessary section around the pier.
We get out of car, the cold and humid air welcome us to the Basque country, whilst we say bye to Ana at Pasai Donibane (San Juan), just a little bit to the west of San Sebastián. It's half past eight in the evening, I put on my ridiculously heavy (28 kg) backpack and we start walking on the road towards Jaizkibel mountain. We have scarcely two hours of light ahead of us and the uncertainty of not knowing where we will sleep today. A situation that under other circumstances would make me uneasy; facing it with an adventurous mentality, is exciting me.
Once on top of the Jaizkibel massif, we walk between ferns on a path parallel to the road. The high humidity makes me progress soaking wet. It soon gets really dark. Equipped with a headlamp I look for a flat place to erect the tent whilst it starts raining to improve the situation. The path is totally surrounded by vegetation and it is really difficult to find a few clear meters. I have finally given up and erected the tent in the darkness of a pine forest where I found some space with an acceptable incline. From the pine forest, some lights from cars can be seen on a road no further than 30 meters away. Under the rain, we enter our place to sleep, that will be our home for a long period of time.
And this is it how, due to logistical reasons, we begin the traverse of the Pyrenees a little bit before the official GR11 starting point.
